The Indian Lion (Panthera leo goojratensis) of the Museum Wiesbaden
One of the most interesting mammals of the collection is this Indian Lion. Nearby 100 speciemens are alive in nature. Unfortunately we do not know the date of receipt. The males of the Indian Lion have a reduced mane and the animals can usually be found inside the forests.
In addition this mount is very special, because the taxidermist Burger (a former student of Kerz) remade this mount in 1935. The result is worth seeing.
