With the aid of various specialists open databases for asilid workers and other interested persons are being developed. These databases include: species names, known distributions, literature citations, keys for determination, and translations. You can use the questionnaire forms for individual querys, but the complete information is only available as ZIP files for downloading. These database files are best read, after unzipping, by copying them to your favorite database, such as Access, dBase, Paradox, etc. If viewed in ASCII, the columns are separated by ";" and a full record can be delineated by pressing RETURN. They can be used without limitation with the proviso that you report new information and existing errors. It is absolutely prohibited to use the offered data for commercial purposes.
If you have difficulty in reading individual databases, once downloaded, please contact: Email.
I am very grateful to all workers, who have sent their comments and new information, especially Dr. R. Lavigne.
